Daddy's Girl

I'm a daddy's girl.
 I LOVE IT!

I also love the fact that my mother is never upset, jealous or bitter about the close relationship my dad and I have.  She encourages it because she was very much a daddy's girl also.

When I set out to raise my own girls, this was something that I wanted to "pass down" to my daughters as well.

Aspen is the only daughter I have that somewhat resembles me but man-oh-man... Does she act like her father.

Genuine, Level headed, Hard Worker, Persistant, Tolerable, Giver.

My favorite thing my father has ever given me is a small book called, A Father's Book Of Wisdom.  On the inside of the first page is a hand written note from my dad expressing how proud of me he was and how he could't wait to see what the future holds for me.  He had written that note and gave the book to me when I was leaving for college. I still go to that book all the time! Listed below are some of my favorite passages from that book.

When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced.  Live your life in such a manner that when you die the world cries and you rejoice.    - Old Indian saying

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.  -Proverbs 22:6

In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.  -Albert Einstein

The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.  -Dad

You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have really lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love.  -Henry Drummond

  1. Love this, Brooke! So sweet. Daddy/daughter relationships are so very special and are a testament to what kind of husbands daughters end up with. You have such a darling family! Hugs!

    1. Thanks so much Kristen! I have been talking about you and your blog so much lately. You are truly a mama inspiration. When writing this post, I thought a lot about what the relationship must like between a mother and son?!?! I hope all is going well!
